Wikidata
又称: Wikidata item, QID, Wikidata entry
一句话解释
Wikidata is a free, collaboratively edited knowledge base of structured facts about entities, each identified by a unique QID. It is machine-readable by design and widely consumed by search engines and AI systems, which makes an accurate entry a useful anchor for entity recognition.
Why it gets recommended, and the honest caveat
Wikidata comes up constantly in AI visibility advice because it is genuinely machine-readable, genuinely widely consumed, and free. Those are real advantages.
The caveat is eligibility. Notability is enforced by an active editor community, and an item created for a company with no independent coverage will usually be deleted. Treat Wikidata as something you become eligible for after earning coverage, not as a step you take to earn it.
The same logic applies more strongly to Wikipedia, which is why this glossary treats both as out of reach for most small and mid-size brands rather than pretending otherwise.
What a useful item contains
If you do qualify, the value is in accuracy and completeness rather than volume: the correct name and aliases, the right instance-of classification, founding date, headquarters, official website, and identifiers linking to other databases. Each is a fact a system can attach to you with confidence.
What not to do
Do not treat it as a marketing surface. Promotional language, unsourced claims and self-authored items are reverted quickly, and a pattern of it damages credibility with the editor community you would need later. Contribute accurate, sourced facts or leave it alone.
常见问题
- Can any business create a Wikidata entry?
- No. Wikidata has notability requirements — an item generally needs to be described in at least one reliable external source, or serve a structural purpose. Self-created entries for businesses with no independent coverage are routinely deleted.
- Is Wikidata the same as Wikipedia?
- No, though they are related projects. Wikipedia holds articles written for humans; Wikidata holds structured facts written for machines. A Wikipedia article usually has a Wikidata item, but items exist for many things with no article.
- Does a Wikidata entry improve AI visibility?
- It can help entity recognition, which is upstream of being named correctly. It is not a visibility lever in itself — an accurate item makes you easier to identify, it does not make an engine recommend you.

- Knowledge graph
A knowledge graph is a structured database of entities — people, companies, products, places — and the relationships between them. Search and AI systems use one to understand that a query is about a specific thing, and to retrieve facts about it rather than pages mentioning it.
- Entity SEO
Entity SEO is the practice of making search and AI systems recognise your brand as a distinct, well-defined thing rather than a string of characters. It covers consistent naming, unambiguous descriptions, and corroboration across independent sources so a system can confidently identify who you are.
- Brand authority
Brand authority is the credibility a brand has earned in its category, and the signals that communicate that credibility to people and to search systems. It is built through independent corroboration — what others say about you — far more than through anything you publish about yourself.
